What’s going on with Ja Morant?
That’s the question basketball fans are asking after a series of questionable Instagram posts by the Memphis Grizzlies star.
As noted by Clutch Points, Morant deleted a series of stories which raised many eyebrows.
In the deleted stories, the Memphis Grizzlies player said goodbye to his parents and daughter in three separate posts. He then posted a fourth story of him with his back turned, which he captioned ‘bye.’
Morant’s recent controversies
The player was recently suspended for brandishing a gun during an Instagram Live, but it’s not the first time he’s been at the centre of controversy.
As noted by Forbes, Morant was suspended in March 2023 when he also waved a gun around on Instagram Live while at a club.
In September 2022, he stormed into a high school volleyball game with family and friends. Officers tried to block the group from entering the student’s section, but one of Morant’s friends managed to gain access and is alleged to have threatened to beat a teenager.
In July 2022, he punched a 17-year-old during a pickup basketball game at home.
Fans concerned for Morant’s safety
Following his recent post, fans are worried about the player’s safety and have taken to social media to show their support.

Sports Brief reported earlier that Ja Morant is embroiled in yet another controversy.
The Memphis Grizzlies superstar has been suspended again after he was seen holding a weapon in a social media video.
The NBA is currently investigating the matter.
