The NBA world came together to pay tribute to Carmelo Anthony, who announced retirement from the NBA after 19 seasons in the NBA.
LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Giannis Antetokounmpo led other NBA stars in congratulating Anthony, who is regarded as one of the best of his generation.
Anthony retires with 10-times All-Star appearances, a scoring title, and six-time All-NBA selections. He played for six different teams: Nuggets (2003-2011), Knicks (2011-2017), Thunder (2017-2018), Rockets (2018-2019), Trail Blazers (2019-2021) and Lakers (2021-2022).
The 38-year-old is ninth on the NBA all-time scoring list with 28,289 career points. Moreover, he won three gold medals at the Olympics (2008, 2012, 2016), per AP.
One thing that evaded Anthony was an NBA title. He never reached the NBA Finals in his career. He reached the conference finals once, with the Denver Nuggets in 2009 but were beaten by eventual champions, the Lakers, per the Athletic.

Anthony posted a video to announce his retirement, and it was shortly followed by tributes from many stars. Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant paid his tribute by roasting his former Team USA teammate. he posted several photos on Instagram.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP of the NBA, congratulated Anthony on his stellar career.
