  • LeBron James is 0-2 for the 9th time in his career
  • James and the Lakers went 0-2 against the Denver Nuggets in Western Conference
  • James has a 3-5 record after going 0-2 down in his career

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are in trouble. They lost Game 2 of the Western Conference finals 103-108 to the Denver Nuggets to go 0-2 down.

Despite having a near triple-double, James had a poor game. James has been 0-2 down in a series before, and the good news are that the series shifts to Los Angeles, where they'll get the chance to even it.

The 20-year veteran has gone through numerous ups and downs in his career. There's nothing he hasn't seen in the NBA. He's been swept, he's made a comeback from a 3-1 deficit and went to eight straight NBA Finals, per CBS Sports.

Therefore, going 0-2 down may not faze him. However, he is 38 years old, and for the first time, his age is starting to show. For that reason, we've looked at James' history of going 0-2 down in his career, per Sporting News.

James record at 0-2 down

The four-time NBA champion has gone 0-2 down eight times prior to going 0-2 against the Denver Nuggets.

He has gone 3-5 in those series, including an individual game record of 17-13.

LeBron James history after going 0-2 down

James went 0-2 down in three straight years (2006, 2007, and 2008) while he was still earning his stripes in the NBA.

James went 0-2 down for the first time in 2006 against the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference semifinals. He led the Cleveland Cavaliers to three straight victories but fell short, losing Games 6 and 7. In 2007, James avenged that defeat by winning four straights after going 0-2 again vs. the Pistons.

However, Cleveland's trip to the finals ended in agony as they were swept by Western Conference giants San Antonio Spurs.

In 2008, the four-time MVP and the Cavaliers went 0-2 down in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Boston Celtics. They clawed their way back to 2-2 before splitting Games 5 and 6. They fell short in Game 7, losing 97-92, despite a 45-point performance from James.

He would wait eight years to go 0-2 down again, this time in 2016, against the Warriors. His Cavaliers went 0-2 down, then 3-1 down in the 2016 NBA Finals. That would set up the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history. James and his team erased that deficit and went on to win his third NBA title. It was Cleveland's first-ever title, per Bleacher Report.

The Warriors would come back to avenge that loss in 2017 and 2018.

The hope for the Lakers is that James has only been swept twice before, both in the NBA Finals in 2007 and 2018.

James roasted after Game 2

Sports Brief earlier reported on James getting blasted on social media for his underwhelming performance in Game 2 against the Nuggets.

James shot 9 of 19 from the floor, including 0 for 6 from beyond the arc. That performance still wasn’t enough to please the fans, who blasted him on social media for missing several easy baskets in Game 2.

Fans made fun of James after he missed a layup and blew a dunk in the first half.
