@_CK2K:

"Why Monty taking the fall for a team that depleted their depth for an aging star???"

@Coach_GregRowe:

"Noooooooooooo! We talk about players playing the right way; Monty coaches the right way! He’s a culture & relationship guy! As a Phoenix fan, this stings. Monty was THE guy! Would not be surprised if he landed in Milwaukee."

@LegendSports7

"This is the right decision. Suns blew 2-0 in the NBA Finals, got embarrassed by the Mavs & Nuggets. One disappointment after another."

@Prep2Play

"Shame on Suns ownership. Monty Williams was not the problem….the GM and ownership diminishing the depth and camaraderie of the Suns with the Durant trade was their downfall. Hey they swung big and missed, that’s ok but don’t blame and fire a proven coach!"

@kendallhjay

"This man deserves so much credit for all the work he did. He changed the culture and made being a fan of the Suns fun again. Players came to Phoenix because of Monty."

@mcl_roblox

"Definitely one that stings but it's something that happens when a team has to evolve in sports. someone who's doing just enough to stay but isn't getting any better is not someone to be having, love you monty for your time here though."

Durant on Suns playoff exit

Sports Brief earlier reported Kevin Durant calling the Suns' playoff exit an embarrassment. The Suns lost 125-100 to the Denver in six games.

The Suns suffered a similar fate last season when the Luka Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks eliminated them in the second round. Interestingly, the margin at halftime in both games was 30 points

"It sucked. It was a bad feeling. Embarrassing," Durant said.
