Since his incredible Game 2, when he scored 30 points and made eight of his 11 three-pointers, he scored just 42 points in the next four games. 'Ganme 6 Klay' was non-existent in Game 6.

He scored only eight points on 3-of-19 shooting from the field and 2-of-12 from three-point range. To make it worse, most of the shots he took were open, but he just couldn't connect.

In Game 6 against the Sacramento Kings in the first round, Thompson was poor. He shot 8-of-20 from the field and 2-of-9 from deep. That is 4-of-21 (19%) in Game 6 in both playoff series, per SF Gate.

Thompson on bad shooting night

The 33-year-old shooting guard is definitely getting back to his best after missing two straight seasons with career-threatening injuries. He finished the season with the most made threes

Thompson is eligible to sign an extension this summer. The four-time NBA champion is making $43.2 million in the final year of his deal next season. However, the Athletic reports that he could take a pay cut if he wants to extend.

"... I obviously wish I would've shot the ball much more efficiently," Thompson told reporters. "Probably had the worst shooting series I've had in a long time...I got so many great looks, that's why it hurts. This was the first full season in three years I've had to make it through healthy, so that's positive and I will come back even better next season," via NBC Sports.

Thompson enters the final year of his five-year, $190 million Warriors contract.

Origin of 'Game 6 Klay'

Sports Brief earlier reported on the origin of 'Game 6 Klay'.

A Game 5 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2016 Western Conference finals set the stage for one of the most iconic performances in NBA history.

On May 28, 2016, Thompson erupted for 41 points and drained 11 3-pointers in Game 6, helping the Warriors force a Game 7, which they went on to win.
