NBAThe Celtics beat the Atlanta Hawks 128-120 to win their first-round NBA playoff series, 4-2. They were expected to close the series in Game 5, but a collapse in the fourth quarter, coupled with Trae Young's heroics, saw their win delayed.
The Arena was double-booked because many felt the Celtics would close the series at TD Garden.
The legendary singer is currently on her “Together Again” tour, which started earlier this month in Hollywood and runs throughout the U.S. until June, per SI.
After Game 6, Tatum sent an apology to the pop queen.
“I want to send an apology to the legend, Janet Jackson,” Tatum said. “We were supposed to close out in Boston. She had to postpone her show. I hope she sees this. I apologize for that, but we got it done today,” via SI.
Jackson will perform on Friday night, per ESPN.
Kevin Durant has no regrets about leaving the Warriors for the Nets
NBAAfter their 128-120 at the State Farm Arena, the Celtics advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals for a showdown with the Philadelphia 76ers, who swept the Brooklyn Nets in their first-round series.
Sports Brief earlier reported on Tatum saying he only has one goal in the NBA, to win an NBA championship.
Tatum and the Celtics got close last season but fell short, losing to the Golden State Warriors in six games.
“The only thing that matters to me is winning a championship,” said Tatum. "Not MVP, not first-team All-NBA, none of that. I want to get back to the Finals and get over the hump.”
