Dallas Mavericks star, Kyrie Irving has claimed the Brooklyn Nets would've won the 2021 NBA title if he wasn't injured in the semi-final against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks beat the Nets in that series, going on to win their first NBA title in 50 seasons.
The Nets had won the first two games of the series but dropped Game 3 to the Bucks.
In Game 4, Irving stepped on Giannis Antetokounmpo's foot in the second quarter. He was later diagnosed with an ankle sprain, which ruled him out for the rest of the series. The Bucks won the series in seven games.

Milwaukee went on to beat the Atlanta Hawks in six games in the Eastern Conference before beating the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Finals, to win their first NBA championship in 50 seasons, per Fox Sports.
The Nets were expected to go all the way to the finals after assembling three superstars, including Kevin Durant and James Harden.
Irving: Nets would have won
In Irving's mind, the Nets would've won their first-ever NBA title if he was healthy against the Bucks.
He made the comment while replying to a post on Twitter.
"[It was] one of the most disappointing and painful moments of my career. If I don't get hurt that series, every single one of us on that Brooklyn team/bandwagon would be Champions. No [expletive] doubt about it."
Kevin Durant has no regrets about leaving the Warriors for the Nets
NBAHarden also missed several games due to injury. Durant produced a historic performance in Game 5, where he finished with 49 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Fast forward two years later, and none of the three are on the team. It was a failed project considering they had so much promise and expectations, per Sporting News.
Cuban wants Irving to stay
Sports Brief earlier reported on Mark Cuban saying he wants Irving to stay with the Mavericks.
The Dallas team has gone 4-11 in 15 games in which the two All-Stars have played together.
Cuban and the Mavs can offer Irving a five-year $272 million deal and this appears very likely.
