Milwaukee Bucks will reportedly have their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo back for Game 4 against the Miami Heat in the opening round of the NBA playoffs.

The two-time MVP sustained a lower back contusion in Game 1.

The 2021 Finals MVP suffered the injury when he clashed with Heat's Kevin Love in Game 1. After driving to the basket, he clashed with Love, falling to the ground Hard.

He tried to return to the game but couldn't carry on. He played 11 minutes in Game 1. According to the Athletic's Shams Charania, Antetokounmpo will be available for Game 4.

What it means for Bucks

The 2021 NBA champions dropped Games 1 and 3, and getting their star buck in a game in which they could go 3-1 down is vital.

The absence of arguably the best player in the world was greatly felt in those games as the Bucks lost Game 1 130-117 and Game 3 121-99.

The 28-year-old is coming off his best regular season, statistically. He averaged 31.1 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in 63 games while shooting 55.3 percent from the floor and 27.5 percent from deep, per Bleacher Report.

Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday carried the scoring burden for the title favorites.

Antetokounmpo named MVP finalist

Sports Brief earlier reported on Bucks superstar, Antetokounmpo being named a finalist for the 2022/23 NBA MVP award.

He won the award in 2019 and 2020 and has had a phenomenal 2022/23 season, averaging 31.1 points a game, 11.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game.

Denver Nuggets center and reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and Philadelphia 76ers star, Joel Embiid are also finalists. The Greek won the MVP awards in 2019 and 2020. Embiid is the frontrunner, while Jokic is not far behind.
