Golden State Warriors veteran, Draymond Green has defended stomping on the chest of Domantas Sabonis in the fourth quarter of Game 2 against the Sacramento Kings.

Green was called for a flagrant 2 and subsequently ejected with seven minutes remaining in the game. The Warriors lost Game 2 by 106 to 114.

Early in the fourth period, Kings' sixth man, Malik Monk missed a floater.

In the ensuing scramble for the rebound, Sabonis found himself on the floor; he grabbed Green's leg, but the Warriors veteran retaliated by stomping on his chest, per CBS Sports.

Play was stopped as the Lithuanian was still down in pain.

After review, the Kings' big man was called for a technical foul for holding Green's leg. There were mixed reactions on social media about the incident.

After the game, the 33-year-old defended his actions.

"My leg got grabbed. Second time in two nights. Referees just watch it. I have to land my foot somewhere. I'm not the most flexible person, so that's not stretching. I can only step so far, and I was pulling my leg away. Is what it is," Green said, per NBC Sports.

Other Warriors players defended Green's actions. Initial X-rays on Sabonis’ ribs and lungs were negative, per the Athletic. The Lithuanian big man will undergo additional testing Tuesday.

During the anxious wait for the referees' decision on the incident, Green had an interesting back-and-forth with a raucous crowd at Golden 1 Center. He stood on a chair and had a screaming match with the noisy crowd.
