NBAStephen Curry Reveals Why He Is Still Scared of Playing in the Playoffs
- Stephen Curry has revealed he still has butterflies during the playoffs
- The Golden State Warriors veteran has played in 134 playoff games in his NBA career
- Last season, he led the Warriors to their fourth NBA title in their 6th trip to the NBA Finals
Despite playing in the NBA playoffs for much of his career, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry still has butterflies when the postseason starts.
Curry has led the Warriors to four NBA championships in eight years, solidifying his status as one of the greatest players of all time.
The 35-year-old produced an incredible performance in the 2022 NBA Finals to win his first finals MVP trophy, which has been missing on his long list of awards.
The defending champions have struggled for consistency this season. They finished 6th in the Western Conference but had one of the worst road records (11-30) in the NBA. Therefore, it will be a challenge for them since they may not have a home advantage in the playoffs.

Curry nervous about playoffs
Curry and the Warriors face the Sacramento Kings in the first round, with Game 1 tipping off on Saturday at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
Although he's played in front of many hostile arenas, Curry still has butterflies, per NBC Sports.
“Your level of preparation takes care of that once the game starts,” Curry said. “It’s always there, though. Old heads used to say if it matters enough, you’ll have those. When it doesn’t, that’s when you start to worry."
The good news for the Warriors and Curry is they are facing an inexperienced Kings team. However, the Kings do have Mike Brown as their coach.
Brown has valuable experience, gained as a Warriors assistant coach. He is a 4x NBA champion (2003, 2017, 2018, 2022).

Thompson's warning to the NBA
Sports Brief also reported on Thompson sending a warning to the rest of the NBA teams about the threat the Warriors pose in the playoffs.
The Golden State has proven many times they are a formidable opponent, producing an incredible run last season to win a fourth NBA title.
"I don't see a team who can beat us in a seven-game series when we're healthy," Thompson commented.
