In August 2014, LA Clippers star Paul George suffered a gruesome open tibia-fibula fracture in his right leg during a Team USA scrimmage.
He underwent surgery and spent about a week in the hospital recovering and got a special visit from Floyd Mayweather.
George's injury shook the entire basketball community, with his Team USA teammates clearly disturbed by it. He was an Indiana Pacers then.
The Clippers star was challenging a James Harden layup. His leg was caught on the stanchion and his momentum took him in the opposite direction, snapping the bone through his skin, per Bleacher Report.

George returned in April 2015 when the Pacers played the Miami Heat and has become one of the best two-way players in the NBA since.
Mayweather visits George in the hospital
The injury shook the world of sports. In the latest episode of Podcast P, the Clippers All-Star discussed the outpouring of support he received from celebrities all over the world.
However, one guest stood out. Boxing icon Mayweather went to visit George as he recovered.
“I was in the hospital for a week. Floyd [Mayweather] was there every day."
George has since played for the Oklahoma City Thunder and now the Clippers. He is an 8x All-Star. The 32-year-old is sidelined with a knee sprain and is hoping to win an NBA title before he retires.

George wants Westbrook to win
