Ja Morant's predicaments just went from bad to worse. Police in Colorado revealed they were investigating the Memphis Grizzlies star for flaunting a firearm in an Instagram Live video on Saturday.

The Grizzlies later announced that Morant will be away from the team for at least two games, but head coach Taylor Jenkins is unsure when the All-Star guard will return.

According to ESPN, the Glendale Police Department confirmed the incident occurred at a bar in Glendale. The place is popular for its nightlife, including strip clubs and shopping centers.

The police indicated that they are investigating if the All-Star broke any laws.

Colorado is an open-carry state, but one cannot carry a firearm on federal property. Furthermore, it is illegal to possess a gun while under the influence of alcohol.

NBA rules permit players from possessing a handgun while on team property or traveling on team business.

Jenkins on Morant situation

Sports Brief earlier reported on Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins weighing in on the Morant situation.

He said there's no timetable for the return of their best player but are supporting the youngster as he tries to get help but noted it will be a difficult process.

Jenkins added that they are holding Morant accountable for his actions, and it remains to be seen how long the guard will be out of action.

Desmond Bane's message to Morant

Desmond Bane sent a lovely message to his Grizzlies teammate Morant as he tries to get help, as Sports Brief earlier reported.

He said the team is a big family, and they are wrapping their arms around their best player as he steps away from the team.

Morant's incident comes when the team is clinging on for the second spot in the Western Conference with a 38-25 record. They lost their last game to the Los Angeles Clipeprs.
