The Los Angeles Lakers will have to make do without LeBron James for the next three weeks. The veteran forward is set to miss at least three weeks because of a right foot tendon injury.
The news is a blow for the Lakers who are fighting for a playoff spot and without James, it will be a dogfight in the Western Conference.
The 2020 NBA champions were without the NBA's all-time leading scorer in Tuesday's 121-109 defeat against the Memphis Grizzlies with what was termed as a right foot soreness.
March 23 is the earliest the four-time NBA champion would return. Darvin Ham's side have ten games between now and March 23rd. They will face five teams above .500, including the Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and the Memphis Grizzlies, per Sportsnet.

James season so far
The Lakers have a 24-23 record with James in the lineup. They are slightly worse (6-10) without him in the NBA this season.
The 38-year-old is having a phenomenal season. He's putting up 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists.
The Lakers (30-33) are in 11th place in the West, a game from 10th place and the final spot in the Play-In Tournament. They are only two games behind the Mavericks in the race for seventh.
Lakers beat Thunder without James
Sports Brief earlier reported on the Lakers beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 123-117 without James and Anthony Davis.
Dennis Schroder did most of his damage in the second half, scoring 22 of his 26 points in the final two quarters. He shot 8 of 18 from the field and finished the game with six assists.
Austin Reaves and Lonnie Walker IV contributed off the bench, chipping in 19 and 13 points respectively. The reserves combined for 48 points to help in the Lakers' scoring attack.
