Seven years ago, Stephen Curry made one of the most iconic shots in the history of the NBA. ESPN announcer Mike Breen made the shot special with his legendary double bang call.
Curry has honored the legendary announcer by dedicating his new Under Armour shoe line to Breen by calling it “Curry 2 Bang Bang PE Retro.”
In 2016, the Golden State Warriors were the best show in sports. Curry announced himself on the world stage with his unstoppable long-range ability. They were coming off a championship year in 2015, and no one could stop them during the 2015/16 season.

Instead of waiting for the game to a second overtime, Curry stunned the Thunder crowd and the basketball world by pulling up from 32 feet, burying the shot for the 121-118. He finished with 46 points, including 12 threes, per USA Today.

Curry has immortalized the moment with his latest shoe release; he recently honored Breen with a special gift.
Curry’s latest shoe release is inspired by the shot made iconic by Breen. During that game against the Thunder, Curry wore a player-exclusive colorway of the Under Armour Curry 2.

NBATo commemorate the seventh anniversary of the shot, Under Armour released the “Double Bang” pack Friday, featuring the Curry Flow 10 and Curry 2 Retro in new colorways to celebrate that moment.
“Seven years ago, you had one of the greatest calls in regular-season NBA history, the double bang. So, I wanted to give you this as a token of appreciation for that moment,” Curry said via NBC Sports.
Breen said it is an honor to call his games.
“It’s an honor calling his games,” Breen said in the video. “And to have him say I have a small part of it means more than he knows and more than you can imagine. Thank you,” via SI.
That season ended agonizingly for the Warriors as they threw away a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers. They still won 73 games that season, a record that still stands today.
