NBADevin Booker Opens Up on Teaming Up With Kevin Durant in Phoenix
- Devin Booker has opened up on Kevin Durant joining the Phoenix Suns following the blockbuster trade last week
- Durant is yet to play for the Suns as he's nursing an MCL sprain sustained earlier this year
- With his addition, the 2021 NBA finalists are expected to go all the way and win the title
The dust has settled in Phoenix following the arrival of Kevin Durant in a blockbuster deal in last Thursday's trade deadline. Devin Booker, who won a Gold Medal during the 2020/21 Olympics, is excited to play with Durant.
The deal saw the Suns send Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks, and a 2028 pick swap. T.J. Warren also joined the Suns from the Nets.
Durant is expected to debut after the All-Star break since he is still recovering from an MCL sprain he sustained playing for the Nets in early January.
The two-time NBA champion makes the Suns a serious NBA championship contender. They went to the 2021 NBA Finals but lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games despite going 2-0 up.

The 34-year-old led the Golden State Warriors to three straight NBA Finals, winning two in 2017 and 2018.
Booker on Durant joining Suns
The Suns suffered one of the most embarrassing collapses in playoff history. In the Western Conference semi-finals, they lost 123-90 in Game 7. The Suns were up 57-27 at halftime, per SI.
They are hoping to right those wrongs this season with the addition of Durant. Booker does not have the word to describe his national team teammate.
"You can't put it into words. It's something you've got to be around. It's a feeling when you're around greatness. When you're around one of the best to ever do it. It's a different look. It's a different feel."
Gary Payton II failed medical with Warriors puts 4-team trade at risk
NBAThe Suns are 4th in the West with a 31-27 record. There will be many expectations for the trio of Durant, Booker, and Chris Paul. Anything other than a finals appearance would be considered a failure.
Chris Paul on Durant
Sports Brief earlier reported on Chris Paul reacting to Durant joining the Suns, saying he is excited to play with the 2014 MVP.
Paul said Durant is one of the best players in the league and is looking forward to stepping on the court with him.
"Just to know how he approaches the game, his nickname's Easy Money, just somebody who loves the game like that. I think that's what brought me and Book closer together because he just love to hoop. And KD, he just love to hoop. So I'm excited about the process of building this team."
