Luka Doncic is excited about playing with new Dallas Mavericks acquisition Kyrie Irving who joins from the Brooklyn Nets following a blockbuster trade. He will now join his fourth team in seven seasons.
The Nets traded Irving to the Mavericks four days ago for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, an unprotected 2029 first-round draft pick and two future second-round picks.
The first thing that came to mind for most NMBA fans was how the two ball-dominant players would share the ball and be productive. After the trade, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd stressed that it was Doncic's team.
Doncic is having a phenomenal season this campaign. He is averaging 33.4 points per game, which is the best in the league. Meanwhile, Irving is scoring 27 points per game, per CBS Sports.

Kyrie Irving blasts Brooklyn Nets after sealing move to Dallas Mavericks
NBAIt remains to be seen how the two will play together but they form one of the best offensive duos in the league. Docic feels they both will have to adjust.
"I never played with a guy like Kyrie, so it's obviously going to be a work in progress. But I think it's going to be fine. We both can play on the ball. For me, I think it's going to be a learning process, for sure. Outside of my first season, I didn't play off the ball. But with a guy like him it's going to be different."
The Mavericks lost the Western Conference Finals last season to eventual NBA champions the Golden State Warriors in five games. With the addition of Irving, the team now possesses enough offensive firepower to go toe to toe against any team.
