Anthony Davis stole the headlines for the wrong reasons the night LeBron James became NBA's all-time leading scorer in Lakers 133-130 defeat against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Davis was pictured sitting on the bench enthusiastically after James sank a fadeaway to overtake Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's 39-year record in the third quarter.

Davis explains reactions

According to ESPN, the Lakers star has clarified those claims, saying he was disappointed with the game's result. In that game, Davis scored 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor and shot just one free throw.

"It's about the game. I mean, we're losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder, a game we needed. And I was pissed off that we were losing. It's that simple. It's nothing that has to do with Bron. He knows that. Everybody else is outside looking in, it's their opinion. But I was pissed off that we were losing the game."

While other players were celebrating James' historic milestone, Davis looked despondent on the bench. He also explained that he was coming back from the tunnel and was unaware of James's incredible moment.

He revealed he called James to apologize but James said he understood Davis's actions.

James tribute to Savannah

Sports Brief earlier reported on James paying a lovely tribute to his wife Savannah, before the Lakers game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Just before tip-off, he thanked the Lakers fans, teammates, and his family and stressed his wife's importance in his long and successful career in the NBA.

The 38-year-old went ahead to call his wife the MVP. LeBron and Savannah have been together for almost 20 years and have three children.
