LeBron James is NBA's all-time leading scorer.
He achieved the incredible feat during the Los Angeles Lakers game with the Oklahoma City Thunder, scoring 38 points despite his team losing 133-130.
Despite the loss, it was going to be James' night as he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record.
Celebrities, executives, former NBA stars and James's family thronged the arena to witness history unfold. And they did. It would've been poetic if the shot that broke the record was a skyhook, but it wasn't.

With 10.9 seconds left in the third quarter, the Lakers star made a fadeaway jumper to officially become the all-time leader in NBA scoring, per ESPN, leading the chart with 38,390 points.
His two sons, Bronny and Bryce were animated after the shot went in. Tens of thousands of fans in the arena joined them to celebrate the historic milestone.
James celebrates Savannah
Before the Lakers' game against the Milwaukee Bucks, James addressed the fans inside the arena, since he was forced to sit out due to a foot problem.
A day after he broke the record, he paid tribute to his wife in front of the packed crowd at the Crypto.com Arena, calling her the real MVP.
James thanked the Lakers fans and his family, with children, Bronny, Bryce and Zhuri watching on as their father delivered a heartfelt message to Savannah.
"My beautiful wife has been... I mean, she's the real MVP, if you want to be completely honest. She's actually the all-time leading scorer. My boys will say they are the all-time leading scorers, but I don't think that I'll think Savannah will allow that tonight. But my family is everything to me," James said via Skysports.

NBAThe Lakers made some serious moves ahead of the trade deadline and James's next step will be to bring another championship to Los Angeles. They last won the title in 2020.
Celebrities congratulate James on record
Rappers, Drake and Kendrick Lamar, along with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Rihanna, all sent congratulatory messages to James after he broke the record.
Rihanna, who is set to perform at this weekend's Super Bowl, is one of James high-profile fans and said she was proud to witness history being remade.
"My favourite thing about being a LeBron James fan is watching you prove yourself over and over again against all odds and all doubt," she commented.
James on breaking his record
Sports Brief also reported on James naming a few basketballers who could surpass his scoring record.
The Lakers star said Kevin Durant is the most likely to outdo him because of his versatility on the court.
He also mentioned the likes of Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kyrie Irving.
