NBALakers Acquire Mo Bamba for Patrick Beverley, Draft Compensation
- The Los Angeles Lakers have a new look roster after NBA Trade Deadline
- They have acquired Mo Bamba from the Orlando Magic for Patrick Beverley and draft compensation
- With other trades made just hours before, the Lakers have significantly improved their team
Days after missing out on Kyrie Irving, the Los Angeles Lakers ended the NBA trade deadline with a better roster compared to when the week started. They have acquired big man Mo Bamba from the Orlando Magic for Patrick Beverley.
The 6-foot-1 guard is on a $13 million expiring contract. The Lakers were looking to improve defense and shooting and did just that with the acquisition of Bamba but for D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt and Davon Reed.
Despite LeBron James's superhuman performances, the Lakers have struggled this season. Injuries to Anthony Davis has slowed down their progress. They sit 13th in the Western Conference with a 25-30 record.
With Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving now in the Western Conference, the Lakers had to improve their roster to get out of the West.

Lakers acquire Mo Bamba
The Lakers have agreed to trade Patrick Beverley to the Orlando Magic for Bamba according to The Athletic's Shams Charania. The Magic will also receive second-round draft compensation from the Lakers.
The 2020 NBA champions acquired three second-round picks on Thursday when they traded Thomas Bryant to the Denver Nuggets, per CBS Sports.
With that trade Davis will now play in his preferred power forward position without sacrificing spacing. Bamba is decent from deep, shooting 36 per cent in his career.
Bamba also brings interior defense. He is averaging one block per game in the NBA this season 1.4 for his career. Bamba, coupled with the Lakers other trades gives them size and versatility, qualities they've lacked this season.
