LeBron James has been on top of the game for most of his career. Even as he enters the twilight of his career, James remains one of the most popular sports stars in the world.

He feels that all the fame brought about by his exploits in the NBA has been challenging. He stated that sometimes he wants to do everyday things like regular people.

The 38-year-old has been the face of the NBA for many years and considering he is still the main talking point in sports shows and podcasts in his 20th season, it shows he maintains the star power he had years ago.

The Los Angeles Lakers star is on the verge of making history. He will soon become the all-time leading scorer in NBA history. He is only 36 points away from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record which has stood since April 1984.

When he inevitably breaks it, he will add it to a long list of records, some of which will be unbreakable in the near future. He led his teams to eight straight NBA Finals appearances starting in 2011-2018.

James on fame

In June last year, James was declared a billionaire. He has invested in several businesses and continues to expand his financial portfolio.

“I wish I could just walk outside. I wish I could just, like, walk into a movie theater and sit down and go to the concession stand and get popcorn. I wish I could just go to an amusement park just like regular people. I wish I could go to Target sometimes and walk into Starbucks and have my name on the cup just like regular people, via NY Times.

James is having a great season for the Lakers and is averaging 30 points per game. However, his team has struggled since winning the NBA title in 2020. They missed the playoffs last season and are 13th in the Western Conference this season.

James on who will break his record

Sports Brief earlier reported on James naming a few players who could surpass his inevitable scoring record.

The Lakers star said Kevin Durant is the most likely player to outdo him because of his versatility on the court. Durant is currently 15th on the all-time scoring list and may climb up before he retires.

He also added that Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Irving have a chance if they stay healthy.
