Zaire, the 21-year-old son of NBA legend Dwyane Wade is set to play in the third season of the Basketball League Africa (BAL).

Zaire has agreed to sign with the Cape Town Tigers of the Basketball Africa League.

The 6-foot-1 guard recently took part in the BAL combine in Paris, France with Wade, the Miami Heat legend in attendance. The 21-year-old averaged 4.6 points and 1.9 assists in 13 games for the Utah Jazz's G League Salt Lake City Stars last season.

The BAL includes 12 clubs from 12 African nations playing a total of 38 games in three locations—Dakar, Senegal; Cairo, Egypt; and Kigali, Rwanda, per Bleacher Report.

Zaire to play for Cape Town Tigers

According to ESPN, Wade's son will play for the South African side Cape Town Tigers.

Cape Town will play in the Nile Conference in a 15-game group phase in Cairo, Egypt, from April 26 to May 6 at the Hassan Mostafa Indoor Sports Complex.

The top four teams from the two conferences will advance to eight-game, single-elimination playoffs and finals May 21-27 at BK Arena in Kigali.

Zaire is looking forward to the BAL experience, according to Basket News.

"You can expect to see a completely new player compared to last season. The experience [in BAL Combine] was good for me. I enjoyed it. It was great to get on the court, be competitive and show my talent. It's something I always do, I want to get my work out there. I love it."

BAL, NBA talks for game in Africa

Sports Brief earlier reported on NBA and BAL holding talks to hold the first-ever preseason NBA game in the continent of Africa.

The NBA partnered with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) on the BAL, which is set to begin its third season on March 11. The league also has regional offices in Cairo, Johannesburg, Lagos (Nigeria) and Dakar (Senegal).

the discussions are centered on having two NBA teams face off in Africa. The league has previously held three exhibition games in Africa in 2015, 2017 and 2018.

Location and time are yet to be discussed but reports indicate they can come as soon as 2024 and would be played in BAL venues.
