Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets according to the Athletic.
Irving is having a great season with the Nets and the request comes as the trade deadline (February 9th) looms. He has asked the team to move him ahead of the deadline.
According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the 30-year-old prefers to be moved ahead of the trade deadline or will leave in free agency.
The 2016 NBA champion is averaging 27.1 points per game this season and has kept the team afloat in the absence of the injured Kevin Durant.
