The Lakers are also on a five-game winning streak while the Nuggets are 12-3 in their last 15 games. Therefore, the Jokic vs James showdown will be exciting.

He posted his 10th triple-double this season in a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, per the Denver Post.

The"Joker" is having another terrific season and sits at the top of the NBA MVP ladder. He is on track to win the MVP for three straight seasons, becoming only the 4th player to do so.

Porter Jnr claims Jokic is the best

Speaking to reporters during shootaround, the Nuggets youngster says Jokic deserves to win the MVP award for five straight seasons.

He declared that the 27-year-old is the best player in the world, which is a bold statement.

“He could win MVP for the next 5 years…Just because of how good he is, how we run our offense, the touches he gets. On top of that he always rebounds at a high level, obvously scoring and assists."

Potter said those qualities should make Jokic the obvious MVP, calling on the voters to never get tired of giving it to the Serbian.

It’s probably tiresome for these voters to keep giving Nikola the MVP but like coach says, ‘Don’t get tired of success.’ Hopefully the voters don’t get tired of giving it to who I think is the best player in the world.”

Jokic has shown no signs of slowing down. His performances have seen fans and pundits declare them as genuine title contenders.

Jokic matches NBA icons

Sports Brief earlier reported on Jokic matching NBA legends Wilt Chamberlain with an astonishing statline after the Nuggets beat the Charlotte Hornets last month.

The reigning NBA MVP had 40 points and a career-high 27 rebounds in another triple-double, to help the Nuggets overcome the Hornets 119-115.

Jokic is now the third player in NBA history to record at least 40 points, 25 rebounds and 10 assists in a game, joining the iconic Wilt Chamberlain, who did it four times, and Elgin Baylor.
