- LeBron James has surprisingly revealed he doesn't know where becoming NBA all-time scorer will rank in his list of accomplishments
- James has won almost everything in the NBA and at 38 years old, he is one of the greatest NBA players of all time
- He is expected to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the NBA scoring list next month
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James isn't sure where the NBA all-time scoring record will rank in his list of NBA accomplishments.
James is set to pass Lakers icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the NBA all-time scoring sometime in February if he maintains his current scoring streak.
The former Cleveland Cavaliers star is considered one of the greatest NBA players of all time. Many fans believe only Michael Jordan is the best of all time, but it remains to be seen if the discourse will change when he passes Abdul-Jabbar.
NBA projects that James will pass Abdul-Jabbar on February 9th. If he maintains his scoring average of 27.2 PPG, James would need 17 games to reach Abdul-Jabbar's 38,387.

James on his achievements
Speaking to ESPN, via Fadeaway World, James said he is unsure where that accomplishment will rank.
"The scoring record was never even thought of in my head because I've always been a pass-first guy."
He lists some of the goals he had when he entered the league back in 2003.
"I don't know... I have not set out to do that, it wasn't like a goal of mine when I entered the league. Making the All-Star team, being the ROTY, being the First Team All-NBA, First Team All-Defense. Winning a championship... being the MVP of the league."

Nowitzki on James GOAT status
Sports Brief earlier reported on Dallas Mavericks icon Dirk Nowitzki saying James would become the undisputed GOAT if he passes Abdul-Jabbar.
"I always say Michael Jordan is the GOAT," Nowitzki added, "but if [James] really surpasses Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar] with the scoring record, I'm sort of running out of arguments for Michael."
Jordan has six NBA championships to James's four but ranks fifth in all time scoring behind Abdul-Jabbar, James, Karl Malone and Kobe Bryant.
