NBALillard Reacts After Becoming Portland Trail Blazers All Time Top Scorer
- Damian Lillard says becoming leading scorer for the Portland Trail Blazers is a great feeling
- Clyde Drexler held the record for nearly 30 years and played for the Blazers from '83 to '95
- The Blazers lost to Oklahoma City Thunder 123-121 after Gilgeous-Alexander's buzzer-beater
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard has said it was a good feeling to become the team's highest scorer of all time, on Monday night against Oklahoma City Thunder.
The 32-year-old went into the game needing 21 points to surpass Clyde Drexler, who played for the Blazers between 1983 to 1995 and scored 18,040 points in 867 games.
Drexler, a Hall of Fame member, held the record for nearly three decades but Lillard was going to pass that record at some point- and his three-pointer against OKC in the third quarter tied it.
A free throw with 1.33 left in the quarter saw him pass the 1995 NBA champion, per the Athletic.

Lillard is still looking to bring the NBA title to his team for the first time since 1977. They have improved this season, but Chauncey Billups' team will only be gauged during the playoffs.
Lillard on passing Dexler
Lillard has been the shining light for the Blazers in the last few seasons. He led the team to the 2019 conference finals, but the Golden State Warriors juggernauts stood in their way.
The 32-year-old has six All-NBA selections and is one of three players to be named to the All-NBA first team in the 2017/18 season.
Lillard is a six-time All-Star, an Olympic gold medalist and a Kia Rookie of the Year.
"It's a great feeling to reach the top. It's been a goal of mine, and the list has so many players, great history of our organisation, so to finally be number one is a special accomplishment that I'm proud of," he said per ESPN.

Thunder mascot scares reporter
Sports Brief earlier reported on a Blazers reported getting pranked by Thunder's mascot Rumble The Bison, who scared the living daylights out of her.
As the reporter was getting ready to broadcast, Rumble stood behind her for a few seconds without her noticing. When she looked to her right, the mascot gave her the fright of her life.
She was a good sport however, laughing after the terrifying but funny ordeal with Rumble, who has built a reputation for his many pranks.
