Days after the NBA made wholesale changes to their awards, including naming the MVP trophy after Michael Jordan, NBA veteran Jamal Crawford wants Kobe Bryant to be the new logo.
Jerry West's silhouette has been on the NBA logo since 1969 but there have been recent suggestions that the late Bryant should become the new logo.
Following Bryant's tragic death in 2020, calls for West to be replaced by Bryant as a way to honour one of the game's greatest servants.
Earlier this week the NBA announced that Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Hakeem Olajuwon, John Havlicek, George Mikan, and Jerry West will get awards named after them.

The announcement sparked a debate that called for Bryant to be honoured. However, the Lakers legend has the All-Star MVP named after him.
The current NBA logo has existed for over 50 years and there has been no indication that the league will change it soon.
Crawford wants Kobe on the logo
Shortly after the NBA announced that the MVP trophy will now be called the Michael Jordan trophy, Jamal Crawford said Bryant should be the new logo.
"Since we’re naming things, let’s make Kobe the new logo. Thanks in advance‼️"

According to ESPN, Kobe Bryant's widow Vanessa Bryan and Brooklyn Nets All-Star Kyrie Irving support the idea that the logo should be Bryant's silhouette.
Irving posted a photo on Instagram last year and Vanessa, along with other current and retired NBA players supported the idea.
Kobe 2nd in shooting guard's rankings
Sports Brief earlier ranked the top 15 shooting guards of all time with Bryant coming in second behind Chicago Bulls icon Michael Jordan.
Kobe won Five NBA titles, two Finals MVPs, and one MVP. He was selected in 11 All-NBA 1st Team, 18 All-Stars, and nine All-Defensive 1st Team selections.
Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal formed a devastating partnership in the last 1990s and the early 2000s as they won three straight championships, the last team to do so this century.
