EFC 105: Musa Sethwape and Shannon Van Tonder to Battle for Bantamweight Title

• There's a lot of bad blood between Musa Sethwape and Shannon van Tonder ahead of their title fight
• Sethwape got the victory over van Tonder via decision in their previous fight at EFC 100 in December 2022
• Zimbabwe's Nicholas Hwende vacated the Bantamweight title after he chose to compete abroad

Musa Sethwape and Shannon van Tonder will look to settle their rivalry when they fight for gold at EFC 105.

The two talented Bantamweights will clash in the main event for the vacant Bantamweight title.

The 135lb title was first vacated when the UFC signed the then champion, Cameron Saaiman. Zimbabwe’s Nicholas Hwende then won the strap and vacated it to fight abroad.

Sethwape and van Tonder, who are no strangers to each other, will now meet on July 13 to crown a new champion.

Bad blood between Bantamweights

Sethwape and Van Tonder have fought each other before, at EFC 100, but there is still bad blood between the two.

Sethwape won that fight via a decision victory but hasn’t competed since. Van Tonder was in action in April, defeating veteran Ashley Calvert in the first round, and will be looking to do the same against Sethwape.

Both men have signed the contracts, and it’s all systems go for the main event.

10 other fights have also been locked in for EFC 105, including a battle between Sizwe Mnikathi and Prince Lolia.

The Black Lion was in action three weeks ago when he took on Elvis Ngwalangwala. Lolia only needed 45 seconds of that fight as he quickly knocked out Ngwalangwala.

EFC 105 takes place on Thursday, July 13, at the EFC Performance Institute in Johannesburg, South Africa.
