While fans were eagerly waiting for the main event, they witnessed some great action in the first three fights of the main card.

The opening bout was a quick but action-packed fight between two talented flyweights.

Mpumelelo Mngoma and Luke Hendrikz both threw hands early, and the former managed to take the fight to the ground, hooking in a choke hold early on.

Hendrikz managed to free his neck, but the fight didn’t last too long afterwards. Mngoma landed a nasty hook which dropped his opponent.

Mngoma pounced on him, locking in a rear naked choke, forcing Hendrikz to tap in the first round.

Adrian Sanchez vs Glody Kanzeko

The second bout on the card also lived up to the billing. Kanzeko looked dangerous from the get-go as he landed great kicks and punches. Sanchez proved to have a steel chin as he refused to go down.

Kanzeko ended the round by hooking in a headlock, but it never threatened Sanchez.

The second round was also all action, with Kanzeko on the offence. He did have a point deducted after he hit Sanchez with an illegal blow. Kanzeko landed a kick on Sanchez while the Capetonian fighter was on the mat.

Kanzeko then upped the tempo to try and finish the fight before it went to the judges’ scorecards, but it was Sanchez who ended the round stronger.

He managed to take Kanzeko’s back, hook his legs around him, and land blow after blow. The pressure was too much, and the referee eventually stopped the fight. Sanchez picked up the win via TKO by strikes.

Bheki Ngcobo vs Roevan de Beer

Bout three was a Bantamweight clash between Roevan de Beer and Bheki Ngcobo. While de Beer came out with a heavy metal anthem, Ngcobo opted for the song used by WWE wrestler, Kane.

Sadly, he couldn’t channel his inner Big Red Machine as he was forced to tap out in the first round. De Beer hooked in an expert triangle choke and relentlessly applied pressure to Ngcobo’s neck. He gave Ngcobo no choice but to tap out in the first round.

Igeu Kabesa retains Featherweight title

The continent's top Featherweight put his title on the line against Vince Bembe in the main event of EFC 104.

Igeu 'Smiley' Kabesa proved why he is champion and also why he will go down as the GOAT of African MMA.

He finished off Bembe in round one to defend his title using his slick wrestling skills, Sports Brief reported.
