  • Igeu Kabesa is the most dominant champion in the EFC and will look to prove that once again against Vince Bembe
  • Bembe boasts an impressive set of striking skills and is no slouch with submissions, and could prove to be a formidable foe
  • Tapiwa Katikati earned a reputation for finishing all his previous opponents and wants to do the same to Cole Henning

Igeu Kabesa returns to the Hexagon, aiming to defend his Featherweight title again.

Smiley, a 17-fight veteran of the EFC, is the number-one ranked Featherweight in the country and, without doubt, the promotion’s most dominant champion.

Having last fought in November 2022, when he beat Bradley Swanepoel in 33 seconds, the champion will now look to defend his belt against Vince Bembe. With a record of five wins and only one loss in the EFC, Bembe could prove to be Kabesa’s most formidable challenge yet.

A lethal striker with a good submission game, Bembe will be looking to take the Featherweight title back to Mpumalanga with him.

Kabesa and Bembe will contest EFC 104’s main event at the EFC Performance Institute in Johannesburg. While the main event is definitely one to watch, the rest of the card also has some exciting fights to look forward to.

Cole 'The Hitman' Henning will face off against Tapiwa Katikati, a fighter who has finished all of his opponents in the Hexagon. Submission specialist Roevan de Beer will take on Cape Town’s Bheki Ngcobo, and Adrian Sanchez will battle Congo’s Glody Kanzeko.

The opening fight on the main card will see Olympic wrestler Elbert Steyn take on Durban’s knock-out artist, Nkosi Doyisa. There are also seven fights on the undercard.

Igeu Kabesa reclaims Featherweight belt

Sports Brief previously reported how Igeu Kabesa became the new Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) Featherweight champion.

Kabesa defeated Nerick Simoes by submission to claim the belt he once held not too long ago.

With his win, Smiley made history by winning the title for the third time and cementing his place as one of the greatest fighters on the continent.
