The fighter from Kyrgyzstan is said to be growing frustrated that she is constantly training for a fight, but the UFC is unable to find her an opponent, Bloody Elbow reported.

“I wanted to fight in December, but it’s my understanding that it was hard to find an opponent. I’m just here, training all the time, almost every day, waiting for the call,” she said.

Shevchenko admitted she was desperate for a fight, but it appeared to be a problem for the UFC to find regular opponents for her.

“My understanding is that everyone would love to fight for a title, so what’s happening with you girls? Why so quiet?”

Shevchenko’s last fight

Shevchenko last fought at UFC 275 in June 2022, when she defended her title against Taila Santos. Bullet, as she is known, won the bout via split decision and successfully defended her title once again.

Who’s next for Shevchenko?

According to the official UFC rankings, France’s Manon Fiorot is the number 1 ranked contender. Fiorot is unbeaten in the UFC, but has previously stated she wants to have at least one more match before she takes on the champion.

Shevchenko is also open to facing strawweight champion, Zhang Weili in a title versus title bout, or even facing featherweight and bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes once again.

Shevchenko and her impressive career

As noted by UFC stats, Shevchenko hasn't lost since 2017, when she was beaten by Amanda Nunes. She then won nine fights in a row, with her record currently sitting at 23 wins and three losses.
