The mixed martial arts world has been plunged into the headlines again, for all the wrong reasons.
Following video footage surfacing of UFC president Dana White slapping his wife on New Year's Eve, the organisation and the sport have been thrust into the spotlight.
The arrest of former UFC fighter, Phil Baroni has only made matters worse.
As reported by The Mirror, Baroni was arrested in Mexico for allegedly killing his girlfriend.

The American, who fought for promotions like the UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator, notified the police of his girlfriend's death.
The Mirror quoted a Mexican publication that reported Baroni allegedly threw his partner into the shower, where she suffered a fatal head injury. The couple are reported to have had an argument which led to the altercation.
Police found the woman, who is yet to be named, on the bed inside the hotel room. She had multiple bruises on her face and body.
The former MMA fighter has been charged with her murder and is being held in jail, while an autopsy is performed by authorities.
Baroni's more controversial moments
Baroni fought for many promotions over the years and boasted a 16-19 record in mixed martial arts.
MMA Mania reported that he was released by Bellator in 2014 for the continued support of his friend and training partner, Jon Koppenhaver. Koppenhaver was charged with assault and attempted murder at the time.

While many are celebrating Christmas, the MMA world is mourning the loss of Stephan Bonnar.
The 45-year-old was a retired mixed martial arts fighter and a UFC Hall of Famer.
The UFC made the announcement days later on Christmas Eve, Sports Brief reported.
