The 100th event opened up with a Featherweight bout between August Kayambala and Nerik Simoes.

August ‘The Barista’ Kayambala vs Nerik Simoes

Kayambala needed just over 2 minutes to end the fight, knocking out Simoes with a flurry of punches. After his impressive victory, Kayambala called out EFC champion Igeu Kabesa, saying that he wanted the title and only one person had the title he wanted.

Shannon ‘The Terror’ van Tonder vs Musa ‘Bad News’ Sethwape

The Terror looked like he was going to finish the fight in the opening few minutes, as he attempted to make Bad News submit. Sethwape grew more confident as the round wore on and started to land a few shots himself. The second round was a much different affair as Sethwape dominated from start to finish. Bad News rocked van Tonder with a few big shots and The Terror looked dead on his feet towards the end of the round.

The third round was a bit more even, but Sethwape looked to be in his element. He went on to win the match on the judges’ scorecards via unanimous decision.

Billy ‘The Kid’ Oosthuizen vs Stephan ‘DQ’ De La Rey

There was no messing around in this fight as both fighters traded shots throughout the first round. There were no grappling and no attempted takedowns; it was just two fighters slugging it out.

The first takedown came in the second round as The Kid grabbed an attempted kick by DQ and dumped him to the floor. Both fighters returned to their feet soon after and returned to trading big shots. Even the commentators praised both men for the non-stop action.

The third round saw both fighters battle on the mat. De La Rey tried in vain to hook in a Kimura Lock but Oosthuizen had it scouted. Both men went the distance and the judges had to decide the winner. The judges gave it to Oosthuizen as they scored the fight 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28.

Interim Lightweight Title - Tshilumba ‘Old Monkey’ Mkixi vs Cole ‘The Hitman’ Henning

The first of two title fights on the cards saw two former teammates battle it out for the Interim Lightweight Title. The first round proved to be a cagey affair as both fighters didn’t land too many shots, though it wasn’t for a lack of trying.

Mkixi threw punches that showed he meant business, but they failed to find their mark. The second round saw the Old Monkey grow in confidence as he landed a few more shots.

While he managed to cut Henning open, he couldn’t capitalise on the chance. The third round saw Henning look to lock in submission moves in the middle of the round but Mkixi would not tap out. Mkixi got back to his feet and ended the round on the front foot.

Mkixi finished the fight in the fourth round, as he gave Henning no chance to get going. Mkixi landed punch after punch and the referee had no option but to stop the bout.

Nicholas Hwende retains Bantamweight title after absolute classic against Nkazimulo Zulu

The main event of EFC 100 lived up to the hype and capped off the night in stunning fashion.

Nkazimulo 'Zulu Boy' Zulu, a former Bantamweight and Flyweight champion, took on the champion Nicholas Hwende for the Bantamweight title in the main event of the card.

The fight ended in truly spectacular fashion as Zulu executed a mounted guillotine and looked close to getting the win but Hwende escaped just as the hooter went off to signal the end of the fight, Sports Brief reported.
