Who will Tottenham Hotspur facing in the group stages?

Tottenham have been pooled in Group D of the Champions League, where they will be coming up against last season's Europa League winners, Eintracht Frankfurt.

Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon and last season's French Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille complete the set of four teams in the pool.

The draw is a huge relief for Tottenham, who were initially projected to land the competition's group of death.

A section of Tottenham fans have now claimed that the club has all but secured a place in the competition's knockout round if the draw is anything to go by.

How Tottenham fans reacted to UCL draw

One said:

"Couldn't be much better. Finally we get an easy group."

A second added:

"Decent. Looks like the sort of draw you'd get in the Europa."

Another posted:

"Couldn't have asked for much better."

A fourth noted:

"Group D for group of dreams. What a drawing for us."

While another joked:

"Who do we get in the next round?"

UEFA Champions League group stage draw in full

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that European teams participating in this season's Champions League have discovered their group stage opponents following Thursday's draw in Istanbul.

A total of 32 teams from Europe's top five leagues are participating in the elite continental competition.

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, who will be hoping to win the title for the first time in their history, have been drawn in Group G and H, respectively.
