Nigerian forward Uchenna Kanu has started the new season in the Mexican Women League on an impressive note scoring hat-trick for Tigres UANL in their 6-0 win over Atlas.

It was an incredible outing for the Super Falcons star who also made an assist in the game as UANL began the defense of their title on a commanding and stunning fashion.

The Nigerian got her goals for UANL in the 50th, 59th and 91st minute respectively in the encounter.

With this result, Tigres are now in second place on the league table with three points after the first game of the season which they won 6-0.

However, they are placed below Juárez FC Femenil that thrashed Mazatlán 7-0 and above Chivas Femenil who thrashed Pumas 5-1.

Who is Uchenna Kanu?

Kanu represented Nigeria at the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. She made her senior debut on 8 April 2019 in a 1–2 friendly loss to Canada.

She has featured in 10 games for the Super Falcons and has been able to net five goals.

Flamingos players begged for money

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how a player who pleaded to be anonymous stated clearly that the NFF chiefs have not even told them when they will pay their allowances by the Nigerian Football Federation.
