The Super Falcons of Nigeria put up a fine performance against their counterparts in the United States, losing 2-1 in Washington.

However, the United States continued their winning dominance over Nigeria, extending their streak to seven.

Most games between both sides have ended in narrow scorelines, with last weekend’s 4-0 loss one of the highest ever recorded.

Asisat Oshoala returns to Barcelona training

Meanwhile, Nigerian international Asisat Oshoala has returned to training for Barcelona Femeni ahead of the coming Primera Liga season.

The Super Falcons striker had been out of action for some time, having suffered a knee injury while on international duty against South Africa at the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

Since joining the club, the Nigerian international has been a key player for Barcelona. Despite missing the final half of last season, Oshoala's performance was key in helping Barcelona retain their league title.

Zambia Women’s goalkeeper remembers her ex-teammates

Sports Brief earlier reported that the goalkeeper of the Zambian women’s national team, Hazel Nali, remembers her roots as she bought new football boots for her former teammates at Nchanga Queens FC in Zambia.

Eight years after leaving the club based in the northeastern areas of Chingola in the Chingola District of Copperbelt Province, Nali deemed it fit to reunite with her former teammates.

Hazel, who now plays for Turkish women’s super league side Fatih Vatan Spor, was key in the Copper Queens squad that qualified for the Olympics and FIFA World Cup for the first time ever in Zambia’s football history.
