''I have heard many things from people who said Rashidi was killed by his people and I want to state clearly that I am his mother and how would I kill someone who built a house for me.
''We only tried to help him when he was having issues and we took him to a place which I don't know because Hakeem and Simiat got the contact of the traditional man.
''Rashidi's death was not caused by anyone and I am still still feeling the pains of losing my son because he was the breadwinner of the family.''

Before his demise, Rashidi Yekini scored 37 goals for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and he remains all-time highest goalscorer in history for the three-time African champions.
