AFCON 2019: 4 weaknesses of Libya Super Eagles can exploit

The Super Eagles will head into their African Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya with 4-0 advantage from the reverse fixture in Uyo last weekend, and they will also be hoping they can capitalise on some of their weaknesses to complete a double on the north African side

Nigeria demolished their north African visitors Libya 4-0 in the first leg of their African Cup of Nations qualifier at the Uyo international Stadium on Saturday, October 12.

Odion Ighalo's hat-trick and a late minute strike from Samuel Kalu handed the three time AFCON kings maximum points at the end of the encounter.

The Super Eagles rose to second on Group E table with six points from three games, one point behind current table toppers, South Africa.

However, coach Gernot Rohr and his men continue their quest to return to the continent for the first time since 2013 as they battle the Mediterranean Knights on Tuesday.

Legit.ng highlights four areas the 2013 AFCON kings can exploit to emerge victorious away from home at the end of the game.

1. Lack of substantial coach - The Super Eagles will have a chance to explore the coach-less Libya side after beating them 4-0 in the first leg of their encounter in Uyo.

2. Playing on neutral ground - Due to their country's political unrest, the Libyans have been playing all their home games away from home.

3. Experience - Most of their players play at home, compared to the west African contingent that largely ply their trade abroad.

And the lack of experience of the hosts from both the players and the caretaker coach might play into the hands of the Super Eagles.

4. Poor goalkeeping - Libya's goalkeeper was low on confidence in the first leg of their AFCON qualifier in Uyo.

And it is one of the avenues the Super Eagles might have to explore to guarantee their victory after the game. They need to try more curvy long range shots .
