Adaeze said:
“We met at an event and he came over to me and he said ‘hi I wanna be friends’. I liked it because he didn’t come to tell stories.
“I was like Okay, footballers they have stories of coming in, meeting people, flying out. So when he said I wanna be friends I was like, okay that’s a nice thought.
“So from there we started talking and within one month he gave me a promise ring that he wanted to marry me. And then he traveled, called me on the phone and started making arrangements.
“Two months after he proposed to me. I thought it was a joke because I was planning to go to LA for school and then he proposed at the airport. So we didn’t have any long-talking stage. It was a few weeks.”
