- Amaju Pinnick has once again expressed disappointment in Super Eagles' failure to qualify for the World Cup
- Nigeria lost the World Cup ticket to arch-rivals Ghana in the final round of the qualifiers, back in March
- Pinnick stated that he was humbled and disappointed that Nigeria failed to qualify for the global showpiece
Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has once again decried Super Eagles failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria missed out on the global showpiece after losing the ticket to the Black Stars courtesy of the away goals rule.
The first leg of the final round of the qualifiers had ended 0-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, and Ghana shocked Nigeria the second leg as it ended 1-1 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Nigeria failed to proceed to the tournament as Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, Cameroon and Tunisia all represented Africa at the Mundial.

Speaking in a chat with Channels Television and monitored by Complete Sports, Pinnick stated that it was one of his lowest moments as an administrator.
The FIFA Executive Council member insisted that they did everything humanly, materially, and spiritually to ensure the team qualified for the tournament but it wasn’t to be, unfortunately. He said:
“Quite at the beginning I felt very humbled, I felt very bad because it’s not just about me or the country, a lot of people were concerned that Nigeria was not there. From the FIFA president to the CAF president, most of my colleagues in the council were asking where are the Super Eagles?
“But of course, you also understand that it is football. It can tilt towards any direction, but trust me that moment in March was my lowest moment since I was born.”

FootballDaniel Amokachi blasts NFF officials
Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that a former Nigerian international, Daniel Amokachi, has lambasted the Nigerian Football Federation as he rallies support for Coach Jose Peseiro.
‘The Bull’ was particularly disappointed by the Super Eagles following their embarrassing 4-0 loss to World Cup-bound Portugal in an international friendly.
Amokachi attributed the Super Eagles' current woes to the wrong coaches' appointment to handle the team.
