Onyekuru Reveals How Morocco Star Encouraged Him to Join Turkish Club

Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru has disclosed that he was ‘threatened’ by Morocco star Younes Belhanda before joining Turkish club Adana Demirspor.

Onyekuru joined the Super Lig outfit from Olympiacos on a season-long loan until the end of the 2022-23 campaign, with an option to buy.

It was gathered following an unsuccessful spell at French club AS Monaco, Onyekuru then moved to Olympiacos before his loan deal to Demirspor.

The 25-year-old disclosed how Belhanda influenced him to agree a loan deal with the Turkish outfit.

He told Fanatik via GOAL:

“I think if I remember correctly, Belhanda said something like ‘If you don’t come to Adana Demirspor, I will cut your head off, I will break your head. [Laughing] Of course, it was a joke,” Onyekuru said, as per Fanatik.
“The reason why he wanted to is that we already have a friendship from the past, we played together on the field. On this occasion, he asked me to come, thinking that we would better understand and adapt to each other on the field. It was such a moment.”

Bright Osayi-Samuel on Napoli’s radar

Meanwhile, Italian club Napoli are monitoring Nigerian international Bright Osayi-Samuel, who has been impressive for Turkish club Fenerbahce.

The defender could be playing in Italy, as the Partenopei are set to launch a bid as soon as the January transfer window opens.

Napoli have been sensational in the course of the season, as they have put up fine performances in the Serie A as well as in the UEFA Champions League.

Osimehen is happy at Napoli

Sports Brief earlier reported that Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has hinted that he is not yet prepared to leave Italian Serie A outfit Napoli.

Quite a number of clubs are on the trail of the 23-year-old, who has been in sensational form for the Partenopei so far this season.

He has already netted 9 league goals so far this campaign, helping Napoli to the top of the Italian topflight league standings, attracting several top European clubs.
