Ex-internationals Sunday Oliseh and Dosu Joseph have urged midfielder Alex Iwobi to remain at English Premier League club Everton.
Iwobi’s recent form has stunned fans and pundits, and a number of clubs have now set sights on signing him as soon as the January Transfer Window opens.
Having struggled in his first two seasons at Goodison Park, the Nigerian international picked up form since the arrival of Frank Lampard as the club manager.
His current deal with Everton lapses in the summer of 2024, but the Toffees are in negotiations to offer him a new long-term contract.

Sunday Oliseh who is on assignment at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as a member of the FIFA Technical Study Group believes the former Arsenal forward has transformed under Lampard and should remain at Goodison Park.
Oliseh told Punch Sports Extra:
“He has performed consistently well at Everton this season and you can see that he has been revitalised after taking up a new central midfield role since Frank Lampard joined the club last January.
“Prior to Lampard’s appointment, he had struggled to find form playing on the wing, and Evertonians had practically written him off as a wasted potential.
Also, former goalkeeper and Atlanta ’96 gold medallist Joseph Dosu expressed confidence in Iwobi’s abilities to continue flourishing at the club.
“The club has shown intent to keep him by offering a new deal to stay, which I believe he should accept and stay. He is being appreciated by the club, his manager and the fans, something that he didn’t really enjoy from where he was coming from.”

FootballSports Brief earlier reported that Nigerian attacker Alex Iwobi has been Everton's best player so far this season, having rediscovered a new lease on life under former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.
Iwobi joined Everton from Arsenal ahead of the 2018/19 season and his earlier days were underwhelming but admits he's enjoying life now at the club.
He applauded the Everton fans for sticking by him in difficult moments and helping his confidence grow back with their support and praise when necessary.
