Nigerian international Kelechi Iheanacho has disclosed that he never intended to play for such a big club like Manchester City of England.
The Super Eagles star recalls the moment he received an invitation to join the outfit, saying he never believed he would get such an invitation.
Iheanacho was part of the Golden Eaglets squad that won the FIFA U17 World Cup in the UAE, where he won the Golden Ball after seven assists and six goals.
He was discovered at that tournament, where he also netted four times in their group-stage win over Mexico.

In less than one year of moving to the Etihad Stadium, Iheanacho received a promotion to the main squad and in his debut season for the Citizens, they claimed the League Cup.
He told LCFC:
“I didn’t believe that it was going to happen. After the U-17 World Cup, I was looking at going to other teams in Europe."
Iheanacho admitted that when he was informed of the Man City move, he genuinely asked if he would be playing for such a massive team.
"I said that I wouldn’t go and that they should take me to a smaller team. However, my father said to me that it doesn’t matter where I go, I know how to play football and that I will get through there. So, I believed in him, he blessed me and I went to Man City.”
