Nigerian football legend Finidi George has rubbished reports going round that he dragged Moses Simon to have the jersey of Portugal international Pepe on Thursday night, 17 November.

George who won the Champions League title at Ajax claimed that his son is a fan of Pepe and Real Madrid.

Statement made by Finidi George

''I only laughed when people were saying I was dragging to have a shirt and I was wondering why would I at my level and with what I achieved while playing football before moving into coaching.
''My son is a Real Madrid fan and Pepe promised to give him his jersey after the match. My son reminded me three times before the kickoff to make sure I get the shirt from Pepe.
''After the match, I reminded Pepe and he apologised giving it to Moses claiming that he will give my son another one.''

Bruno Fernandes nets brace

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles of Nigeria were walloped 4-0 at the Jose Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon by the World Cup-bound Portugal.

Although it was an international friendly, Portugal dominated the West African side right from the very start of the game until the end.

It took just eight minutes before the Portuguese side opened the scoring as Joao Félix lifted through a lovely ball for Diogo Dalot, who was suddenly in behind the defence and thundering into the Nigeria area.

Dalot showed excellent composure as he waited for a moment before squaring the ball to Bruno Fernandes who tucked home from close range.
