Peseiro maintained that Ndidi was injured and had to leave the camp and returned to England, where he is expected to receive treatment from his club doctors.

The former Sporting Lisbon manager maintains that he gave Ndidi permission to leave as the player was indeed injured, and there was no need to risk him aggravating the situation.

In Ndidi’s absence, one of Club Brugge’s Raphael Onyedika and Brentford’s Frank Onyeka will be in line to step in as the Leicester man’s replacement.

Ahmed Musa ruled out of Nigeria vs Algeria friendly

The captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Ahmed Musa, will not be part of the squad that will face Algeria in an international friendly on September 27.

Musa, who recently joined Turkish club Sivasspor, suffered an injury to his left arm during their 2-1 loss to Ankaragucu in a Turkish Super Lig clash at the weekend.

He was replaced as early as the 19th minute of the encounter as the manager of the side brought on Cameroon winger Clinton N’Jie, who scored Sivasspor’s goal of the game.
