Nigerian international Anthony Nwakaeme has joined Saudi Cup reigning kings Al Fayhaa after his contract with Turkish club Trabzonspor expired this summer.
The 33-year-old could not agree to a deal with the Turkish club following the expiration of his contract, as he had to leave.
Nwakaeme, who once had a stint with Hapoel Beer Sheva, helped Trabzonspor emerge as league winners for the first time in 38 years.
He was linked with a number of clubs, including Galatasaray, but the Nigerian attacker has decided to pen a deal with Al Fayhaa on a two-year deal till 2024.

The one-cap Nigerian star will face compatriot Odion Ighalo who plays for Al Hilal in his first game on Wednesday.
The club in an announcement on Thursday, said;
“The pride we have in our heritage and the glory of our ancestors led us to choose Munikh Castle, built over 600 years ago, which symbolises steadfastness and strength, as the venue for welcoming newly-signed Al Fayhaa player Anthony Nwakaeme through one of the most famous folk arts in Saudi Arabia.”
He scored 47 goals and made 40 assists for the Trabzonspor, but last season was his most successful.
Off the pitch, he could not agree with the club on new contract terms after it expired at the just concluded season.
The Turkish club could not meet his demands, and after back and forth, the Nigerian had to leave as he moves to Saudi Arabia.
