“Atalanta are now set to sign Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig. Talks are at final stage, personal terms agreed. Deal imminent for former Leicester winger.”

Since emerging from Charlton Athletic as a brilliant young winger some years ago, Lookman has been on a bumpy career ride.

After being signed permanently by RB Leipzig, Lookman has gone on loan to Fulham, where he couldn’t save the Cottagers from the drop in 2020 and also played at Leicester last season.

Kounde reveals why he chose Barcelona over Chelsea

Meanwhile, FC Barcelona reached an agreement with Sevilla for the transfer of Jules Kounde, the club announced on Thursday.

The Catalan giants will pay Sevilla a transfer fee of €50 million plus an additional €10 million in various performance-related add-ons.

According to Kounde, he was one step away from signing for Chelsea when Xavi Hernandez intervened.

Despite only having been in the hot seat at Barcelona for nine months, Xavi appears to have a knack for getting through to footballers.

The Barcelona manager convinced the versatile defender to give the Blaugrana more time to finalize his transfer, promising him a key role on the team.

Atletico Madrid announce third signing of the transfer window

Sports Brief earlier reported that Atletico Madrid have announced their third signing of the current transfer window.

Following the arrival of Alex Witsel from Borussia Dortmund and Samuel Lino from Gil Vincente, Atleti have now brought in Nahuel Molina from the Italian side Udinese.

The defender is a right-back and has been brought in to replace Kieran Trippier, who left for Newcastle United in January.
