Former Nigerian international Austin Jay Jay Okocha has stated that the Teranga Lions of Senegal are not just AFCON champions for nothing, as he tips them to do well at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The stage is set as the global showpiece is set for kick-off in November and Senegal are among the five teams representing the African continent.
Ghana, Tunisia, Cameroon, and Morocco are other teams to take part in the Mundial but Jay Jay believes Senegal will do well, Thisday reports.
The Teranga Lions have been drawn in Group A alongside host country Qatar, the Netherlands and Ecuador.

Fielding questions from journalists at the opening ceremony of a new five-a-side football pitch in Lagos built by Bundesliga, the topmost German Football league that partners with StarTimes, Okocha said:
“It’s difficult to say because playing in Africa is totally different from playing other countries from the rest of the planet.
“But of course I would say that Senegal are not number one in Africa for nothing. It’s not a fluke and they proved it by winning the African Nations Cup. So if I’m to put my money on any nation, then it would be Senegal.”
