- Watford has confirmed Nigeria midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo has returned to his parent club Stoke City after completing his loan spell at the club
- Watford released five players, including Etebo, as they will compete in the English Championship next season following their relegation from the Premier League
- The 26-year-old was limited in his appearances for the club due to a long-term injury as he featured in just 10 games for the Hornets
Oghenekaro Etebo will be heading back to Stoke City next season after the Super Eagles midfielder was released by the Hornets.
Etebo joined Watford on loan from the English Championship club at the beginning of last season but only managed to feature 10 times for the Hornets after battling with injuries.
According to a report via Complete Sports, Watford in a statement confirmed Etebo was released alongside 5 other players following their relegation from the English Premier League.
Veteran goalkeeper, Ben Foster who had featured in over 200 games for the Hornets alongside Nicolas Nkoulou, Andre Gray, and Juraj Kucka.
Etebo’s departure from Watford will reduce the Nigerian contingent at the English club to just four players, with Troost-Ekong, Samuel Kalu, Emmanuel Dennis and Maduka Okoye still on the books of the Hornets.
West Ham United has yet to approach Watford over Emmanuel Dennis
Meanwhile, Watford could lose another Nigerian at the club as Emmanuel Dennis is purported to be on his way out after West Ham indicated their interest in the forward.
According to Watford Observer the Hammers are yet to make an official bid for the Super Eagles striker ahead of a summer move.
Dennis representatives have met with representatives from various clubs, including the East Londoners, who are reported to be considering their options at this time.

The Watford midfielder, who already has two kids with his wife Isi, disclosed the good news in a post on his Instagram handle on Friday, February 11.
The post on Instagram showed the 26-year-old midfielder alongside his wife, posing with their newborn at the hospital.
