Former French Champions, Lille have had their headquarters raided by police as the Ligue 1 club is being investigated over corruption in a transfer deal involving Victor Osimhen.
The Super Eagles striker moved to Napoli from the Ligue 1 club in 2020 in a deal reported to cost €75 million and the 23-year-old has gone on to establish himself as one of Serie A’s best players.
According to a report via Soccernet, Napoli and Lille have been under the searchlight as regards the transfer as the Serie A club included four players in the deal.
Orestis Karnezis, Ciro Palmieri, Luigi Liguori, and Claudio Manzi were each estimated to be worth around €20.3 million but these players were overvalued and should have been worth €470,000 instead.
Napoli are also under intense investigation in Italy as the Italian Football Federation has also dragged the Naples club to court as the case is yet to be resolved.

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen could be waving goodbye to the Italian Serie A after just two seasons as the Super Eagles is being courted by English Premier League side, Arsenal.
According to the Metro, Arsenal’s technical director Edu has held talks with the Osimhen’s agent in London in a bid to sign the 23-year-old Nigerian striker.
The Gunners are aware it will be difficult to price the Super Eagles forward away from the Italian Serie A side after he ended the season with 18 goals in 32 appearances for Napoli.

The 23-year-old has had a remarkable season with Napoli as he finished as the club’s top scorer in the Serie A this season with 14 goals despite missing a large chunk of the campaign through injury.
Newly crowned Serie A champions, AC Milan have now joined the race for the signature of Victor Osimhen.
