Newcastle United who are Premier League side have reportedly held talks with the representatives of Super Eagles forward Moses Simon over a summer move to England.

Moses Simon has been impressive this season for Nantes in all competitions and has also being an important member of the Super Eagles team.

Before the close of the January transfer window, Leeds United tried to sign Moses Simon, but Nantes chiefs refused to do any business with the Premier League side.

Although Newcastle United are not in the bottom of the Premier League table so far this season, but the club's chiefs feel Moses Simon would help boost their playing squad.

According to the report on Complete Sports and Hard Tackle, Newcastle United chiefs want Moses Simon to ease the creative burden on Allan Saint-Maximin.

The 26-year-old has scored three goals and recorded six assists in 22 league appearances for Nantes this season.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Moses Simon who is a Super Eagles forward on Wednesday night, 2 March, scored the winning penalty for Nantes as they defeated tough rivals Monaco 4-2 on penalties to reach the French Cup final for the first time in 22 years.

The semifinal game for Nantes against Monaco was not an easy one, but Moses Simon and his teammates fought hard to reach the final and will now be eyeing the title.

Before the encounter was settled via penalties, regulation time ended 2-2 and Nantes went on to win.

Guillermo Maripan gave Monaco the lead in the 12th minute, and it was Djibril Sidibe who scored an own goal in the 21st minute to give Nantes the equalizer.

Samuel Moutoussamy scored the second goal for Nantes in the 74th minute before Myron Boadu restored parity for Monaco two minutes later as it ended 2-2 after 90 minutes.
